Prince Nikolas
.
(Gia's mom is in the hospital and Nikolas comes back to
keep her company.)

Gia: (faking annoyance) Did you not get the part when I said I wanted to
be alone?

Nikolas: I didn't believe you.

Gia:  Great just what I need, another expert on me.

Nikolas: I...I know what waiting like this is like. Nothing
really to do except remember and, and be afraid so I
thought that I would come back here and annoy you to
make time go more quickly.

Gia: Well you are annoying, I'll give you that, with
all your money and your rich boy ways, never had to
work for anything or hold a job that wasn't for fun.
Never had to face a parent with impossible
expectations -

Nikolas: That you'd be surprised.

Gia: You wanna know what my mother said to me when she
woke up, not 'I love you,' not 'baby I'm so glad to see you,'
no it was what are you doing here, why aren't you in
school getting straight A's, making the dean's list
making me proud. Which she never is. Nothing I do is
good enough for her.

Nikolas: My Uncle was like that. He had expectations for
me and I, well frankly, I didn't want to meet them. The
hardest part was I still loved him even when I hated
the pressure even when all I wanted to do was runaway
and change my name and become something totally
different.

Gia: (turning on her defenses) What is this like a really close moment between
us?

Nikolas: (smiling knowingly) No, it's just me trying to annoy you.

*Next Scene*

Gia: Istanbul?

Nikolas: Twelve.

Gia: Moscow?

Nikolas: Six.

Gia: (shocked) You went to Moscow when you were six years old?

Nikolas: My Uncle took me to about, I don't know, Um, a
hundred different museums. We got to see the off limit
rooms, the private collections, the basements, oh, and
the books, with two centuries of dust on them. If it
was in Russia we saw it and all I wanted to do was
just go home.

Gia: What was at home?

Nikolas: My horses, sailing, Jet Skis...

Gia: And I thought the O'Lear kids were spoiled.

Nikolas smiles again.

Gia: Has there been a single thing in your life you
wanted and you didn't get?

Nikolas: (nodding and chuckling) One or two.
