Slaying Vampires

.

Setting: Kelly's.

Gia:
Sure, now that you've got the keys to your Jag back, you don't need me.

Nikolas:
Buy you a coffee?

Gia:
Coffee? No, you're going to buy me lunch for ditching me on the docks.

Nikolas:
I'm sorry.

Gia:
You're to hard on yourself, you know that?  After what your grandmother tried to do to, I'd think you were crazy if you didn't want her six feet under. I mean, if she were my granny, I'd at least wanna put a contract out on her----not that I'd do it. And neither would you.

Nikolas:
I just don't know. It just scared me that I got that close.  That feeling I had.

Gia:
Yeah, but, you didn't act on it. You couldn't. You're too good a person.

Nikolas:
Was that a compliment?

(Lucky comes in, grabs a chair, and sits down at their table.)

Lucky:
(He makes a tired sound.)  Man have I had a morning?

(Gia and Nikolas look at each other and laugh.)

Lucky:
What?  I come for some support and this is what I get?

Gia:
You had to be there,

Nikolas:
So, uh, what's up?

Lucky:
I went to see Zander----about Emily. I came away from there realizing that we need to take it easy on her.

(Lucky sees Nikolas smiling at Gia.)

Lucky:
Is there something going on here that I should know about?

Gia:
Meet your brother, the uh, vampire slayer.

Lucky:
What?

Nikolas:
I had a run-in with Helena.

Lucky:
Really, what happened?

Gia:
Well, Nikolas told her where to stick it.

Lucky:
Well, good for you.

Nikolas:
Well, I've learned a few things from my little brother.

(Nikolas again looks at Gia and smiles at her.)
